Upward Basketball 2026-27 Season
It’s Upward Basketball time again! Registration is open to all boys and girls K5-8th Grade.
Practice begins the week of November 3 and is 1 night a week for 1 hour. First practice is the week of November 9, 2026. Games begin on Saturday, December 5, 2026. Cost is $95.

Fall Festival
October 25, 5-8 PM
On Sunday, October 25, from 5-8 pm, come be a part of our Fall Festival. We will serve hotdogs, chips, & drinks. This is a huge event, so we need a lot of help! We need LOTS of volunteers to work games. We also need donations of 2-liter drinks & tons of candy.
Sunday Night D-Groups
Sunday Night D-Groups meet weekly at 5:00 on campus. We are walking through our current Bible reading plan together, discussing what we've read throughout the week. Journey Through The Bible

Whether you are new to the Bible or have read the Bible all your life, you will be amazed at what we can learn together. This weekly study is being led by Ralph and Lisa Corduan. Invite a friend!
Becoming A Woman of Grace Bible Study
Wednesdays 6:30-7:30 PM
Ladies, join Suzy Frady on Wednesday nights for a deep look at becoming a woman of grace. Using a book written by author and speaker, Cynthia Heald, this will be an incredible journey to help you embrace the abundance of God’s amazing grace. Books are $7 each.
Emergency Response Team
We are looking to form an Emergency Response Team to ensure our church family stays safe and cared for during our worship services. If you are a nurse, EMT, paramedic, or certified first responder and have a heart to serve in this way, we need you!

Brotherhood Dinner

South Congaree House of Pizza
Men, join us for dinner on Monday, October 19, at 6:30 pm. We will meet at the South Congaree House of Pizza (we have space reserved) and enjoy some fellowship time around the table and a devotional thought before we go. No need to RSVP, just show up! SC House of Pizza is located at 714 Main St, West Columbia).
2026 Bible Reading Plan
For 2026, we are going to read the F260 Bible Reading Plan. It will take us through all 66 books of the Bible in a year, highlighting key chapters in every book. This plan will give you the flexibility to read 5 days per week, and it includes suggested verses to memorize. We will make these available in print and online.

Missions Opportunities
Cedar Retirement Home Christmas List
One of the many ways we minister to our community is by providing some items from Cedar Retirement Home's Christmas List. Check the main hallway table for a published list of items. You can drop them by the church office anytime between now and December 6. This will go a long way towards helping these folks have a Merry Christmas.
Clothing With Blessings
Saturday, October 10
10:00 – 1:00
Clothing with Blessings will be open Saturday, October 10, from 10-1. Ken Frady is leading this incredible effort to give back to the community with second-hand clothes. Items include men’s, women’s, and children’s clothing, shoes, and coats. These items are available to the communities surrounding South Congaree.
CBC Food Closet
Friday, October 30, 11 AM – 1 PM
As a reminder, our monthly Food Closet will offer food to those in need on Friday, October 30, from 11 AM to 1 PM. If you know of someone who could benefit from this, please let them know. We would appreciate any help you can give towards donating items for distribution. The items mostly needed right now: Canned Vegetables, Canned Fruit, and jelly (any flavor). Additionally, we want to stock up for Thanksgiving and Christmas and are looking for a canned ham from every family.
If you would prefer to contribute financially, we will also be buying items through Harvest Hope Food Bank to supplement what we collect.
Operation Christmas Child
Samaritan’s Purse has used OCC to deliver hundreds of thousands of shoeboxes around the world to help children hear the message of the gospel. In order to help with collecting items needed for shoeboxes, we will ask for you to find specific items each month.
For the month of October, we will continue to collect: Small toys, t-shirts, ball caps, yo-yo’s, playing cards. Also, we are asking for a handwritten note or card to include in each shoebox. (See Karen Kinder for details.) Next time you’re at the store, would you remember to buy some of these items and drop them off here at the church? Let’s fill the tub!
Drive Thru Prayer
Thursday, October 15
4:00-5:30 PM*
Join the pastor in front of the church for Drive-thru prayer. We’ll be set up with a tailgate tent to pray with folks as they drive up. This is an easy way to meet real needs of folks in our community.
