Who We Are

 Welcome!

As pastor of Congaree Baptist Church,  I have the privilege of inviting you into our community. CBC is made up of many people from different backgrounds. Most gather on Sunday mornings with us, but we also have a number who watch and connect with us online.


We are a group of people committed to following Jesus. That means we attempt to worship him with our heart, soul, mind, and strength. That means we encourage prayer in church and throughout life. That means we attempt to love people outside the church like we'd want to be loved.


If you are looking for a community or family to follow Jesus with, or maybe just curious about him and what his death and resurrection might mean, we would love to get to know you! If you choose to visit, I would love to say hi and help you figure out if Congaree is a place you want to call home.

Jerry Freeman

Pastor

Jerry Freeman came to Congaree Baptist Church as pastor in April 2019. Jerry earned his BA in Interdisciplinary Studies from the University of South Carolina and a M.Div. in Christian Education from Columbia Biblical Seminary. Upon his graduation from college, Jerry spent two years as a Journeyman (through the I.M.B.) in Shanghai, China. Jerry is married to Kimberly and has two children: Maddie and Hudson.
