Children’s Worship 

Children’s Worship is offered during the Morning Worship Service each Sunday. Children in grades K-4 thru 2nd are invited to come to Children’s Worship at 10:30 am. Children in 3rd – 6th grades should go to the Sanctuary for worship and will be dismissed for Children’s Worship following the Special Music.

 

Nursery

A nursery is provided for the Morning & Evening Worship Services. Children up to age 3 are invited.  The nursery is located in the Children’s Building.

Souper Bowl of Caring

Today, our children’s department will be collecting canned goods, as well as monetary donations, for Souper Bowl of Caring. All proceeds will go to our Food Pantry. The children will be stationed at the exits following the morning service to take your donations. Thank you for supporting this ministry!

 

Music Makers

This morning’s musical presentation comes from our children that participate in our Wednesday evening Music Makers program. This is the beginning of our children’s choir program. 

 

Kick Off for Souper Bowl Sunday

During the month of February, our children will be collecting money for our food pantry. Donate $1 and get your name on a “Reaching the Goal” football that will be placed on our “football field” in the Children’s Building. See one of the children to make your donation.

 

Senior Adult Ministry

The Road Runners will meet for a covered-dish luncheon on Monday, February 8, at 11:00 am. Our special guests will be Rev. Marion and Mrs. Kay Ringer. So, join us and bring a friend!

 

Upward Awards Ceremony

All players, cheerleaders, coaches, parents and anyone else involved in Upward are invited to join us on Monday, February 8, from 6:00 – 8:00 pm for dinner and awards. Dinner will be served from 6:00 until 6:40 pm in the Gym and the Awards Ceremony will begin at 7:00 pm in the Sanctuary.

 

Children’s Valentine Party

The Children will have their Valentine Party on Wednesday, February 10, at 6:30 pm in the Children’s Building. Be sure to join us for a Bible story, crafts, games, and more!

 

Valentine Banquet

Join us on Saturday, February 13, from 6:00 – 8:00 pm for a steak dinner & dessert served by our Youth and entertainment presented by our Youth. Childcare will be provided. The cost is $14 for adults and $3 per child. See a youth to purchase your tickets. Proceeds will go towards the upcoming Youth Ski Trip.

 

Youth Ski-Trip

The Youth will be going on a Ski Trip to Gatlinburg the weekend of February 26. A deposit of $50 is due no later than Wednesday, February 10.

 

 Women’s Weekend Get-Away

All women are invited to the Women’s Weekend Get-Away in Pigeon Forge, TN, March 26 – 28.   The speakers will be Liz Curtis Higgs and Angela Thomas. The worship leader will be Lyn Westafer. The concert artist will be Selah. If interested, contact Linda Lucas.

 

Thank You Letters

For your information, thank you letters and items of this nature are placed in the monthly newsletter. The deadline for the newsletter is the third Thursday of the month unless otherwise noted. Thank you for adhering to these policies and deadlines.

This is a reminder to those who use the facilities for special activities or events that you please be sure that all lights and heat are turned off and that all doors are securely shut and locked before leaving. Thanks for your help with this matter.

 

2010 Regional Women’s Prayer Retreats

 “Women Who Request By Prayer” is a regional prayer retreat for women where we will learn how to request of God in prayer through Teaching Sessions and immediately put into practice what is learned by actually praying in Prayer Closet Sessions. These prayer retreats will be offered April 9-10 at Summerville Baptist Church in Summerville; July 30-31 at Anderson University in Anderson; October 1-2 at Ocean View Baptist Church in Myrtle Beach; and October 29-30 at White Oak Conference Center in Winnsboro. The registration cost if $50 and includes materials and meals. If interested in attending any of these retreats, please see Vicky McLain.

 

Children’s Church Workers Needed

Children’s Church is still in need of workers during the morning worship hour. A schedule is posted in the hallway of the Children’s Building. If you would be able to help, you may sign up for a date(s) that is convenient for you. Help is needed in both the younger and older groups.

 

Flowers for the Sanctuary

If you would like to place flowers in the Sanctuary for our Sunday services, the flower calendar is posted on the bulletin board near the church office.   Simply choose the date(s) that suit you and write your name beside the date. When the date approaches, contact the church office with the information that you would like to have put in the church bulletin.

 

Help for Haiti

What can Southern Baptists do in wake of the earthquake in Haiti? Southern Baptist Disaster Relief is inviting every Baptist to join together in feeding the Haitian people. For $30, you can fill a white bucket with specific food items that will feed a family in Haiti for a week. To see all the details, visit the website www.namb.net and click on the link for “Buckets of Hope.”
