Deacon of the Month

The deacon of the month is Jimmy Watford.  The assistant is Keith Sturkie.  Our deacons are ready to serve you.

 

Intercessory Prayer

Pastor McLain will be having Intercessory Prayer in the Sanctuary this morning at 9:00 am to pray for the lost. Everyone is invited to come and pray.

 

To Our Guests

Please complete a “welcome” card and place it in the offering plate later in the service. “Welcome” cards are located on the back of each pew. Thank you for being our guest today. We invite you to worship with us again.

 

Children’s Church 

Children’s Church will not be held today so that the children and workers may enjoy the Christmas Cantata that our Adult Choir will present today.

 

Nursery

A nursery is provided for the Morning & Evening Worship Services. Children up to age 3 are invited. If you have a child with special needs, please contact our Nursery Coordinator, Marie Hook.  The nursery is located in the Children’s Building.

If you had your picture taken for the 2009 update page for the Pictorial Directory, please see Annette Havens or Ashleigh Carpenter today to select the image you want for the directory. If we do not get your selection, we will select the best photo for you.

 

Christmas Post Office

The Christmas Post Office is now set up! This is sponsored by the Women on Mission and all proceeds will go to the Lottie Moon Christmas Offering. The cost is 25 cents per card that you send. So, fill out those Christmas cards and support the Lottie Moon Christmas Offering.

 

 

Women’s Ministry Launch

Congaree Women's Ministry Launch will be held at the home of Steve and Rhonda Leaphart, 237 Dogwood Circle, West Columbia, on Saturday, January 9, at 10:30 am.  Come and find out what Women's Ministry is all about.  Brunch will be served and door prizes given away!  Help us name the Women's Ministry and win a special prize!

 

Women’s Weekend Get-Away

All women are invited to the Women’s Weekend Get-Away in Pigeon Forge, TN, March 26 – 28.   The speakers will be Liz Curtis Higgs and Angela Thomas. The worship leader will be Lyn Westafer. The concert artist will be Selah. If interested, contact Linda Lucas by January 10.

Sister to Sister Christmas Fellowship

On Monday, December 21, we will have our Sister to Sister Christmas Fellowship at the home of Niki Crolley, 175 Ramblin Road, West Columbia, at 6:00 pm. All “sisters” who participated in this program are invited to attend. Home-made soup will be served.

 

Youth Progressive Christmas Dinner

Our Youth will have a Progressive Christmas Dinner/Party on Tuesday, December 22. Please meet at the church at 6:00 pm. If you wish to exchange gifts, please bring a $5 to $10 gift.

 

Christmas Office Hours

The Church Office hours this week will be Monday and Wednesday from 8:30 am until 3:00 pm due to the Christmas Holidays. Please note that the bulletin deadline this week is Wednesday at 10:00 am.

 

Wednesday Activities Cancelled

There will be no Wednesday evening activities on December 23 and December 30 due to the Christmas and New Year’s Holidays. Regular Wednesday activities will begin again on January 6.

 

Youth Fundraiser

Our Youth will be selling calendars as a fundraiser in December. Contact Misty Sturkie for more information.

 

Christmas Eve Candlelight Service

Please join us on Thursday, December 24, at 6:00 pm for our Christmas Eve Candlelight Service in the Sanctuary.

 

Youth New Year’s Eve Lock-In

The youth will have the New Year’s Eve Lock-In again this year. Mark your calendar and plan on spending the night with us!

 

Youth Ski-Trip

The youth are planning a Ski Trip for the 3rd weekend in February. Mark your calendar and look for more details to follow. Contact Jason or Misty Sturkie if interested.
