Children’s Church
Children’s Church is offered during the Morning Worship Service each Sunday. Children in grades K-4 thru 2nd are invited to come to Children’s Church at 10:30 am. Children in 3rd – 6th grades should go to the Sanctuary for worship and will be dismissed for Children’s Church following the Special Music.
Nursery
A nursery is provided for the Morning & Evening Worship Services. Children up to age 3 are invited. The nursery is located in the Children’s Building.

March to the Altar for Lottie Moon
We will have our annual March to the Altar for Lottie Moon Christmas Offering during the Morning Worship Service today.
Staff & Deacon Christmas Luncheon
All Staff and Deacons are invited to attend our Staff & Deacon Christmas Luncheon following the Morning Worship Service today. This luncheon is for all paid staff and present & past deacons.
Christmas Post Office
The Christmas Post Office is now set up! This is sponsored by the Women on Mission and all proceeds will go to the Lottie Moon Christmas Offering. The cost is 25 cents per card that you send. So, fill out those Christmas cards and support the Lottie Moon Christmas Offering.
Senior Adult Ministry
The next Road Runners meeting will be held on Friday, December 18, at 5:30 pm. We will meet in the Sanctuary for our program and then go to the Word of Life class for fellowship and finger foods. Our guest will be Bob Michalski who will play the saxophone. Please bring a finger food and don’t miss it!
Christmas Visit to National Health Care
On Saturday, December 19, we will visit our friends at National Healthcare. If you would like to sing Christmas carols and visit with the residents, please meet at the church at 10:00 am.
Christmas Drop-In at Parsonage
You are invited to attend a Christmas Drop-In at the Parsonage on Saturday, December 19. Last names beginning with the letters A-H will come at 1:00pm; I-P at 2:00pm; and Q-Z at 3:00pm. These are suggested times only. If you cannot come during your allotted time, drop by anytime between 1:00 and 4:00pm.
Youth T-Shirt Design Contest
The youth are having a T-shirt design contest for new shirts. Today is the deadline to submit your ideas to Jason Sturkie.
Youth Committee Meeting
The Youth Committee will meet today at 4:30 pm at the home of Joey & Lynn Langley.
Christmas Cantata
Next Sunday, December 20, the Adult Choir will present “It’s the Most Wonderful Time of the Year” during the Morning Worship Service. The choir has spent much time and energy preparing, so please plan to attend to show your support.
Church-Wide Christmas Dinner
Join us for our Annual Church-Wide Christmas Dinner next Sunday, December 20, at 6:00 pm in the Gym. Meat and bread will be provided. Please bring covered dishes and desserts.
Youth Fundraiser
Our Youth will be selling calendars as a fundraiser in December. Contact Misty Sturkie for more information.
Sister to Sister Christmas Fellowship
On Monday, December 21, we will have our Sister to Sister Christmas Fellowship at the home of Niki Crolley, 175 Ramblin Road, West Columbia, at 6:00 pm. All “sisters” who participated in this program are invited to attend. Home-made soup will be served. Please sign-up in the main hallway for a side item.
Youth Progressive Christmas Dinner
Our Youth will have a Progressive Christmas Dinner/Party on Tuesday, December 22. Please meet at the church at 6:00 pm. If you wish to exchange gifts, please bring a $5 to $10 gift.
Christmas Eve Candlelight Service
Please join us on Thursday, December 24, at 6:00 pm for our Christmas Eve Candlelight Service in the Sanctuary.
Pictorial Directory Updates
If you had your picture taken for the 2009 update page for the Pictorial Directory, please see Annette Havens or Ashleigh Carpenter no later than Sunday, December 20, to select the image you want for the directory. You can find us on the 13th in the Church Office area before and during Sunday School. We also have order forms for pictures and information concerning photo Christmas cards. If we do not get your selection by the 20th, we will select the best photo for you.
Youth New Year’s Eve Lock-In
The youth will have the New Year’s Eve Lock-In again this year. Mark your calendar and plan on spending the night with us!
Youth Ski-Trip
The youth are planning a Ski Trip for the 3rd weekend in February. Mark your calendar and look for more details to follow. Contact Jason or Misty Sturkie if interested.
Women’s Weekend Get-Away
Women of all ages are invited to the Women’s Weekend Get-Away in Pigeon Forge, TN, March 26 – 28. The speakers will be Liz Curtis Higgs and Angela Thomas. The worship leader will be Lyn Westafer and the concert artist will be Selah. If you are interested, contact Linda Lucas at 894-3876 or 730-1110 by January 10 in order to meet the early bird discount.
Upward Basketball & Cheerleading
The Upward season has begun at Congaree! Games are held each Saturday from 9:00 am until 1:00 pm in the gym. The canteen is open during the games, as well, and offers a variety of delicious foods! Come out and support this program as we minister to the children in our church and community!
