Intercessory Prayer

Pastor McLain will be having Intercessory Prayer in the Sanctuary this morning at 9:00 am to pray for the lost. Everyone is invited to come and pray.

Children’s Church 

Children’s Church is offered during the Morning Worship Service each Sunday. Children in grades K-4 thru 2nd are invited to come to Children’s Church at 10:30 am. Children in 3rd – 6th grades should go to the Sanctuary for worship and will be dismissed for Children’s Church following the Special Music.

 

Nursery

A nursery is provided for the Morning & Evening Worship Services. Children up to age 3 are invited.  The nursery is located in the Children’s Building.

Beth Moore Bible Study

The final Beth Moore Bible Study will be held today at 4:15 pm.   Ladies are asked to bring a food item to exchange.

 

Children’s Christmas Musical

Please join us tonight as our children present our Children’s Christmas Musical at 6:00 pm.

Children’s Bible Drill

The Children’s Bible Drill will not be held this evening due to the Children’s Christmas Musical.

 

Flower Sign-Ups

The 2010 Flower Calendar has been posted in the main hallway. If you would like to place flowers in the Sanctuary, please sign up at your convenience.

 

Secret Sisters

It’s time to sign up for Secret Sisters for the New Year. Forms are available in the main hallway. Please fill out a form if you would like to participate. Please give your form to Linda Lucas, Vicky McLain or Ancha Sturkie no later than December 9.

 

Christmas Post Office

The Christmas Post Office is now set up! This is sponsored by the Women on Mission and all proceeds will go to the Lottie Moon Christmas Offering. The cost is 25 cents per card.

 

Loyalty Class Christmas Party

The Loyalty Class will have their Christmas party this Tuesday, December 8, from 6:00 – 8:00 pm. Contact Shelvy Sturkie for more information (755-1369.)

 

Children’s Outing

On Friday, December 11, children in grades 4 through 6 will be going to see “This Man Called Jesus” at Lake Murray Baptist Church. We will meet at the church at 5:30 pm. Please sign up in the Children’s Building if you plan to attend.

 

Secret Sister Christmas Tea

On Saturday, December 12, all ladies who are involved with the Secret Sister program will meet at the home of Annette Havens, 219 Sagemont Court, Lexington, from 3-5 pm for a Secret Sister Christmas Tea. Ladies with the last name beginning with the letters A through M are asked to bring a sweet food and letters N through Z are asked to bring a savory food. Be sure to bring your Secret Sister a Christmas gift.

 

March to the Altar for Lottie Moon

On Sunday, December 13, we will have our March to the Altar for Lottie Moon Christmas Offering during the Morning Worship Service. Please pray about this and give as you feel led to do so.

 

Christmas Cantata

On Sunday, December 20, the Adult Choir will present “It’s the Most Wonderful Time of the Year” during the Morning Worship Service. The choir has spent much time and energy preparing, so please plan to attend to show your support.

 

Staff & Deacon Christmas Luncheon

All Staff and Deacons are invited to attend our Staff & Deacon Christmas Luncheon on Sunday, December 13, following the Morning Worship Service. This luncheon is for all paid staff and present & past deacons. Please bring a $5 to $10 gift for our gift exchange. Sign-up in the main hallway if you plan to attend.

 

Senior Adult Ministry

The next Road Runners meeting will be held on Friday, December 18, at 5:30 pm. We will meet in the Sanctuary for our program and then go to the Word of Life class for fellowship and finger foods. Our guest will be Bob Michalski who will play the saxophone. Please bring a finger food and don’t miss it!

 

Christmas Visit to National Health Care

On Saturday, December 19, the children and anyone who would like to go will meet at the church at 10:00 am to go to National Health Care to sing Christmas carols and visit with the residents.

 

Christmas Drop-In at Parsonage

You are invited to attend a Christmas Drop-In at the Parsonage on Saturday, December 19. Last names beginning with the letters A-H will come at 1:00pm; I-P at 2:00pm; and Q-Z at 3:00pm. These are suggested times only. If you cannot come during your allotted time, drop by anytime between 1:00 and 4:00pm.

 

Happy Home Flavoring

The Faith, Hope, & Charity Class is selling Happy Home Flavoring at a cost of $3 per bottle. See Renate Bruce.

Youth T-Shirt Design Contest

The youth are having a T-shirt design contest for new shirts. Please submit your ideas (on paper) to Jason Sturkie no later than noon on December 13. See Jason for more information.

 

Youth Committee Meeting

The Youth Committee will meet on Sunday, December 13, at 4:30 pm at the home of Joey & Lynn Langley.

 

Youth Fundraiser

Our Youth will be selling calendars as a fundraiser in December. Contact Misty Sturkie for more information.

 

Youth Progressive Christmas Dinner

Our Youth will have a Progressive Christmas Dinner/Party on Tuesday, December 22. Please meet at the church at 6:00 pm. If you wish to exchange gifts, please bring a $5 to $10 gift.
