Staff & Deacon Christmas Luncheon
All Staff and Deacons are invited to attend our Staff & Deacon Christmas Luncheon on Sunday, December 13, following the Morning Worship Service. This luncheon is for all paid staff and active & inactive deacons. Please bring a $5 to $10 gift for our gift exchange. Please sign-up on the sheet posted in the main hallway if you plan to attend.
Christmas Visit to National Health Care
On Saturday, December 19, the children and anyone who would like to go will meet at the church at 10:00 am to go to National Health Care to sing Christmas carols and visit with the residents.
Chaperones Needed
If you are interested in being a chaperone for some of our Youth events (particularly our lock-in), please contact Eva Warren. A background check is required of anyone who works with the Youth at Congaree Baptist Church.
Youth T-Shirt Design Contest
The youth are having a T-shirt design contest for new shirts. Please submit your ideas (on paper) to Jason Sturkie no later than noon on December 13. See Jason for more information.
Youth Committee Meeting
The Youth Committee will meet on Sunday, December 13, at 4:30 pm at the home of Joey & Lynn Langley. Minutes of all meetings are available by contacting Tim Wojcik.

Christmas Drop-In at Parsonage
You are invited to attend a Christmas Drop-In at the Parsonage on Saturday, December 19. Last names beginning with the letters A-H will come at 1:00pm; I-P at 2:00pm; and Q-Z at 3:00pm. Choir members may drop by anytime between 1:00 and 4:00pm.
Youth Progressive Christmas Dinner
Our Youth will have a Progressive Christmas Dinner/Party on Tuesday, December 22. Please meet at the church at 6:00 pm. If you wish to exchange gifts, please bring a $5 to $10 gift.
Road Runners
The next Road Runners meeting will be held on Friday, December 18, at 5:30 pm. We will meet in the Sanctuary for our program and then go to the Word of Life classroom for fellowship and finger foods. Our guest will be Bob Michalski who will play the saxophone for us. Please bring a finger food and don’t miss this. You don’t have to be a “senior” to attend!

Children’s Church
Children’s Church is offered during the Morning Worship Service each Sunday. Children in grades K-4 thru 2nd are invited to come to Children’s Church at 10:30 am. Children in 3rd – 6th grades should go to the Sanctuary for worship and will be dismissed for Children’s Church following the Special Music. Children’s Church is located in the Children’s Building.

A nursery is provided for the Morning & Evening Worship Services. Children up to age 3 are invited. The nursery is located in the Children’s Building.

Beth Moore Bible Study
The Women’s Bible Study will not be held today. The final study will be held next Sunday at 4:15 pm. Ladies are asked to bring a food item to exchange to imitate a Jewish celebration.
Flower Sign-Ups
There are several Sundays available during December to place flowers in the Sanctuary. If you would like to provide flowers, please sign-up on the calendar that is posted in the main hallway. The 2010 calendar has also been posted.
Upward Referee Training
There will be training for Upward Basketball referees on Monday, November 30, and Tuesday, December 1, at 7:00 pm in the Gym for anyone interested in refereeing. Please bring your calendar with you. You need only attend one of the meetings.
Secret Sisters
It’s time to sign up for Secret Sisters for the New Year. Forms are available in the main hallway. Please fill out a form if you would like to participate. Please give your form to Linda Lucas, Vicky McLain or Ancha Sturkie no later than December 9.
Family Movie Night
Come join us on Friday, December 5, at 6:00 pm for Family Movie Night. We will enjoy pizza, popcorn, and the movie “Polar Express.” The cost is $5 per family to cover the cost of dinner. Bring your beach chairs or blankets and dress the kids in their pj’s! Please sign-up and purchase a ticket from the Children’s Department by November 29 if you plan to attend.
Children’s Christmas Musical Practices
The children will practice for the Christmas Musical today from 4:00 – 5:30 pm and Monday from 5:30 – 7:00 pm. They will have dress rehearsal on Saturday, December 5, at 12:00 noon
Children’s Christmas Musical
On Sunday, December 6, our preschoolers will be singing during our Morning Worship Service and the older children will be presenting a Christmas Musical during our Evening Worship Service. Make plans to be here!
Children’s Outing
On Friday, December 11, children in grades 4 through 6 will be going to see “This Man Called Jesus” at Lake Murray Baptist Church. We will meet at the church at 5:30 pm. Please sign up in the Children’s Building if you plan to attend.
Secret Sister Christmas Tea
On Saturday, December 12, all ladies that are involved with the Secret Sister program will meet at the home of Annette Havens from 3-5 pm for a Secret Sister Christmas Tea. Ladies with the last name beginning with the letters A through M are asked to bring a sweet food and letters N through Z are asked to bring a savory food. Be sure to bring your Secret Sister a Christmas gift.
Christmas Cantata
On Sunday, December 20, the Adult Choir will present “It’s the Most Wonderful Time of the Year” during the Morning Worship Service. The choir has spent much time and energy preparing, so please plan to attend to show your support.
